I visited Boleskine a few weeks ago. It happened to be first truly warm and sunny weekend, just after the Spring Equinox. I did some sound recordings to capture the ambience and atmosphere of the place.

Winter Night by Loch Ness

I was staying at a small campsite in Foyers in the middle of January. I woke up one frosty night and left wooden ‘wigwam’. Air was cold and the clear, starry sky stretched over my head. Bright, nearly full moon was shining over snowy top of Meall Fuar-mhonaidh.

I stood over the shore and began doing my recording. I could hear splashing waves and  I had a sense that something was strolling in the waters but when I turned my head I could only see the calm shore of the loch. I was staring into black shiny water and I had a sense that something stared back from its depths… Shiver went down my spine and I couldn’t tell if it was from cold or from profound sense of weirdness.
