Principally playing original compositions of an ambient nature on the Hohner Guitaret as well as other thumb pianos/finger harps/lamellophones. Also the Hohner PIanet T which is a lamellophone thought rationalised.

The Hohner Guitaret is an experimental thumb piano invented by Ernst Zacharias in the 1960s. More information can be found at the Friends of the Guitaret Facebook page

Interested in orchestration using field recordings, per the great John Cage’s suggestions (1937).

The pieces are all pataphysical book reviews. They consist of musical essays on books of the same title that haven’t been written, but should have.

ataphysics is the science of exceptions, the science of the particular, and investigates the phenomena of alliance, variance and deviance.

Chris Rippey 


In addition to writing, performing and producing Tales of the Boatman, an audio series devoted to the art of fantasy storytelling and world acoustic music, Chris Rippey is a contributing editor to the Autumn Salon, an online music and arts magazine and performance series located in southern Maine. He is also a private music instructor.

First episode of the Tales of the Boatman called the Fairy used Glen Faramach recording River Foyers Rapids.
